CHANGING YOUR “WANT TO”

A lot of people have lost their joy, lost their purpose and lost the reason that they are alive. People are sad, stressed, anxious and a lot of times, held in bondage by mental torment, excessive worry, or to their desires for things in the world.

We live in a world where many people have been raised in very harmful atmospheres. Many adults, teens, and children have been exposed to things that they never should have been exposed to. They live life believing that they must settle for something inferior. They make decisions on the way they feel, not on actual truths. They allow the traumas in their life to dictate their responses.

Unfortunately, those negative things have the potential to make their lives completely ineffective and actually bring their life to a place of destruction.

Success or failure is not based on your circumstances, it is based on your ability to make correct decisions and live out your potential despite the way you feel.

Truth is, many have never been exposed to the war between good and evil that exists. They have not been taught that the enemy, the evil genius, the demonic realm, has access to the way you feel. The demonic realm opposes the kingdom of God – the kingdom of light – so the demonic realm is going to oppose us. If you make your decisions based on how you feel, the enemy has access to your decisions

Before you know it, the enemy will cause you to develop affections for things in the world and develop thought patterns that pull you to a place without peace and joy. This is done so you – question God’s existence, or you start to believe that He does not love or care about you or your circumstances. This prevents you from being effective.

Think about it: You don’t know your asleep until you wake up. You don’t know you’re in darkness until you experience the authentic light. Proverbs 4:14 tells us not to enter the path of the wicked for it is like the darkness and you will not know what makes you stumble.

The enemy cannot destroy you; the enemy must get you to self-destruct. The enemy attempts to get you to focus on things in the world which:

Have the ability to pull you away from God.
Have the ability to control you.
Cause you to desire things to give the enemy access to you.
Which then allows the enemy access into your life to control you.
Causes stress, worry and anxiety.
Includes self-pity and a negative attitude.

We were created in the image and likeness of God. We were created for good works. Ever since the enemy became involved, there has been a glitch in the system.

Jesus died to enable us to be born again and filled with Holy Spirit, our helper, our counselor. Holy Spirit is present to lead us to all truth because God wants us to walk out a lifestyle of success, of producing good fruits.

The only way that things are going to change is if people learn how to live out a relationship with God as their Father and with Holy Spirit as their teacher and guide.

Proverbs 4:23, the Word of God tells us to be diligent to protect our heart above anything else, and in Col 3:2: Matt 6:21, to set your affections on good things.

The enemy will place you in a perfect position and situation to fail. The enemy attacks what you want in order to try to influence how you feel in order to drive you to make harmful impulsive decisions. The enemy will attack your feelings and your emotions. The enemy will blind your eyes, (your spiritual eyes) and then pull you into a world of deception and destruction. A world of doubt, condemnation, sadness, depression, confusion, and loneliness…

Too many people make excuses for the problems in their life. Jesus gave us the solution: get up, leave your previous lifestyle, walk correctly. (from the Word of God John 5:1-11) He empowered us to be successful in an atmosphere of chaos and defeat.

Many people wonder why they have so many problems. People have no idea that those problems are caused because the devil is guiding their path and their decision-making.

I don’t want to be controlled by the enemy. I don’t want to be driven to make harmful impulsive decisions. The more that we live in peace, joy, and contentment through the presence of Holy Spirit, the less vulnerable we are to the attacks of the enemy.

We have access to all the abilities that Jesus had. He was born as a man, to experience the world to show us how and what was possible through a relationship with God.

We must depend on the contentment we receive from the peace and joy of Holy Spirit to control your emotions.

Do you control your emotions are do your emotions control you?

Do you trust yourself?
Do you respect yourself?
Are you irresponsible?
Are you impulsive?
Do you have to have things right away?
Are you easily offended?
Are you easily tempted?

Sometimes you must evaluate yourself and see just how easy you make it for the enemy to cause you to make bad decisions.

Joy is not determined by circumstances and conditions; it is determined by the presence of God in your life.

The inability to quiet your mind reveals the absence of peace which reveals the absence of relationship with God and dependency on Holy Spirit.

Lack of peace of mind reveals you have a more significant relationship with the world than you do with God. Substitutes for the peace and joy of Holy Spirit are alcohol, drugs, fornication and simple things such as overindulgence in food and activities such as spending money, or even excessive sleep.

You have the potential to walk as effective as Jesus did, and the demonic realm knows this. You will either control the demonic realm of the demonic realm will control you. Unfortunately, they don’t realize that the wild stuff that they’re doing is driven by the demonic realm. People fail to see how the devil is actually manipulating them to position them to where he can cause death loss and destruction.

So, what’s the problem? Why do we do stupid stuff? Why do we do harmful things?

Bluntly, the answer is that we do not discipline ourselves to be led and guided by Holy Spirit, which instills in us a desire for the things of the kingdom of God. The presence of Holy Spirit blesses you with peace and joy which brings about contentment.

If you truly want to get back on the right track, it is going to take instruction from the word of God to learn how to live above the evil in this world.
